There are a number of conditions for transferring from vmbo-t to havo at the Lorentz Casimir Lyceum. First, we expect a vmbo-t diploma with an average grade of at least 6.8. Motivation and commitment are also important, along with a positive recommendation from the high school. Finally, the havo profile chosen must fit well with the student's abilities and interests.
Transferring from vmbo to havo can be challenging. That is why we see intensive guidance at Lorentz Casimir Lyceum as a high priority. You can think of extra support in subjects, help in developing study skills such as planning and summarizing, and we have an introductory program to make the transition go smoothly. Our goal is to help students get optimally acclimated to the havo level.
A havo diploma offers many transfer opportunities to higher education, for example, higher vocational studies. Students who perform well at the vmbo and would like to continue studying are suitable for this transition to increase their chances for the future. We carefully guide these students at the Lorentz Casimir Lyceum to make the transition successful.
Compared to vmbo-t, havo is more theoretically challenging and requires more independence. Students at havo are given more complex material, have to go deeper into subjects and learn to work more independently. We therefore support students with study skills and guidance so that they can adapt to the new way of learning.
Is your child interested in transferring from vmbo to havo at the Lorentz Casimir Lyceum? Then you can contact us for an introductory interview. During this meeting we will discuss the admission requirements, guidance and expectations. Together we will see if the transition is a good choice and how we can best support the student.
