The school makes every effort to avoid class cancellations as much as possible and to provide contiguous class schedules for students. When a class hour does drop, students have a Z-hour (independent work hour). Undergraduate students are then taken care of by another teacher or a supervisor. They work in a classroom on their homework. Upper school students spend their Z-hour in the auditorium or media library. Students are expected to stay on the school grounds.
