In these classes, especially for students with a havo recommendation, teachers have the opportunity to give you the attention and guidance you need. We understand that the transition from elementary school to high school can be exciting. That's why we make sure you feel comfortable quickly. In the havo bridge class, you will learn in a familiar environment where you can discover and develop your talents. With a smaller number of students per class, there is room for interaction, questions and personal guidance, allowing you to get the best out of yourself. Discovering what suits you

At our school, you don't have to choose between havo and vwo right away. In our two-year havo/vwo bridge class, you get the chance to discover what suits you best. Classes start at havo level and gradually build up to vwo level. This means that you can discover at your own pace where your interests and talents lie, without having to make a choice after the first year. After this two-year bridge class, you only decide whether to continue in the third class of havo or atheneum. This approach gives you the opportunity to get used to high school life and to expand your knowledge and skills in a stable way. Our teachers are there to support and guide you so that you can make informed choices for your future. Whether you choose havo or vwo, the Lorentz Casimir Lyceum offers a solid foundation for your further school career.

Develop your talents with additional challenges

The vwo at the Lorentz Casimir Lyceum is more than just studying from books. In the atheneum and gymnasium bridge classes we offer a challenging learning environment for students with a vwo recommendation. In the atheneum you can choose a track without classical languages, ideal if you want to focus on modern subjects. In the gymnasium bridge class, however, you dive into the world of classical languages, such as Latin and Greek, and learn more about the culture of antiquity. For highly gifted students, we offer the GymnasiumPlus bridge class, where you go through the regular material in an accelerated manner. This class gives you extra space for project learning, where you can work with your classmates on topics you find interesting, such as programming or philosophy. Thus, we offer a diverse and enriching learning environment where you are encouraged to bring out the best in yourself. Whether you are interested in classical antiquity, modern sciences or philosophical issues, at the Lorentz Casimir Lyceum you will always find a place that suits you.

No, at the Lorentz Casimir Lyceum you don't have to make a choice after the first year. In the two-year havo/vwo bridge class you can discover at your own pace which level suits you best. Only after the second year will you make a choice between havo and atheneum.
Students with a vwo recommendation can choose the atheneum bridge class, where they focus on modern subjects without classical languages. They can also choose the gymnasium bridge class, where they learn Latin and later Greek. For gifted students, there is the GymnasiumPlus bridge class with extra challenging project education.
The GymnasiumPlus bridge class is especially for highly intelligent and gifted students. In this class you go through the standard curriculum faster, leaving time for challenging projects. You will also take additional subjects such as programming and philosophy.
The Lorentz Casimir Lyceum offers a two-year havo/vwo bridge class in which you can grow at your own pace. By taking classes at both havo and vwo level, you can discover what suits you best. Teachers will guide you through this and help you make an informed choice after the second year.
