New construction, but a rich history

Although we are proud of our long history as a high school in the Aalst area, we also look forward. From August 2024 we have the doors of our Modern new buildings open. This building is designed with an eye for the future and the needs of our students. These new facilities offer you even more opportunities to learn and grow as a student. Our school is known to combine traditional values with an innovative approach, something that really distinguishes us from other secondary schools in the Aalst area.

We think it is important for our students to have the opportunity to discover new places and cultures. That gives them a broader view of the world around them, in which we are increasingly connected with each other. We offer our students all kinds of opportunities when it comes to excursions and trips. There is an exchange with students from a school from Kempen (Germany), with history you can go to Bayeux (France), but there are also language trips to Lille and Cologne. And if you have French in your package you can go to Namur in grade 4.
Yes, we have a wide range of extracurricular activities, from sports clubs and music classes to art workshops and debate clubs. There is something interesting for everyone to participate in.
We offer extra challenge and guidance for highly intelligent students, both under- and in the superstructure. In the coming school year, gymnasiumPlus, a class for highly intelligent and gifted students, will start. The regular curriculum of these students is compacted, creating time for project education, programming and philosophy. The teachers of this class have affinity with teaching to highly gifted students.
In classes 1 and 2 of the HAVO and HAVO/VWO, students can use the homework class free of charge, where they can work under supervision and be helped to plan their schoolwork.
The Lorentz Casimir Lyceum is known as a school where you learn a lot. We are among the best schools in the Netherlands and we are of course proud of that. Especially since we are a very nice school! You'll feel at home soon. A wonderful place where you can learn, exercise and relax. Around the school are beautiful sports areas where you can play hockey, football or tournaments in summer and winter. We have nice introduction days to get to know each other soon. With your new friends you will discover how everything works here and feel at home soon.
