Nice to see you!

Welcome to our school!

Welcome to our cozy school! When you drive into the Celebeslaan, you see a small school with 1,150 students, hidden in the greenery at a beautiful location on the outskirts of Eindhoven. A place that radiates tranquility, but appearances are deceptive: within this serene environment it is bustling with dynamism, and you can choose havo, atheneum, gymnasium or gymnasiumPlus to prepare for your future.

On this page you will find everything you want to know about our school. Watch the video to the right to get an impression. Feel free to stop by for an LCL Experience day, LCL Active, LCL Plus, one of our information evenings or the Open Day to experience our school for yourself!

Why go to the LCL?

With us in the bridge class

The Lorentz Casimir Lyceum is known as a school where you learn a lot - and we are proud of that! We are among the best schools in the Netherlands, but above all we are a place where you quickly feel at home. Our school offers a nice environment where learning, sports and relaxation go hand in hand.

Around the school are beautiful sports fields where you can play field hockey, soccer and participate in tournaments throughout the year. During the introductory days you will get to know your new classmates and discover together how everything works, so you will feel at home right away. Together with your new friends, our school will soon feel like your place!

We will help you!

We are happy to help you get used to your new school. Your mentor is your contact person and confidant, to whom you can always turn. In addition, your class will have two mini-mentors: students from class 4 who will quickly show you around the school. You can ask them anything you want! Do you find some subjects difficult? Then you can take extra lessons in French, English, Dutch, math and biology. We also offer guidance for fear of failure and social-emotional problems.

Our school also offers extras such as:

  • Cambridge Pro and reinforced French;
  • BrainSport junior: a learning line for the gifted;
  • Drawing and computer science as an exam subject;
  • First Lego League (where you develop a robot);
  • Master classes at Eindhoven University of Technology.

Quest

Quest is a unique subject offered only at the Lorentz Casimir Lyceum. In these classes you learn to cooperate, research, present and evaluate. You work in groups on different projects about current and relevant topics, in which several subjects come together. During Quest you learn how to use digital technology and we pay attention to civic education. You also work on your research skills.

Guest lectures, company visits and workshops by external experts give you a glimpse of the world outside school. You will conclude each project with a final presentation, to which your parents, siblings and other interested parties are welcome at school. Of course, during the lessons and presentations you will be well guided by your Quest teacher and your mentor.

What do we think is important?

  • That there is a safe school climate;
  • That every student is seen and known;
  • That differences among students are recognized and understood;
  • That you are challenged at your own level;
  • That you get the opportunities to develop your talents to the maximum;
  • That you are well guided in your learning process.

Come meet us!

  • Would you like to come and take a look at us? Or would you like to come to an information session together with your parents/guardians? We have made an overview for school year 2024-2025:

Additional information and our spearheads

45-minute schedule

In school year 2022-2023, we introduced the 45-minute schedule in our teaching schedule. And we like it. Students have more free time at the end of the class day this way!

Testing policy

On a yearly basis there are (including the test weeks) a maximum of 6 tests for a 1 or 2-hour subject, 8 tests for a 3-hour subject, 10 tests for a 4-hour subject. The 4 weeks of tests take place the week before a school vacation.

Spearheads

Some of the focal points within our school we would like to mention here additionally (of course there are more).

  • New school building in "our backyard" in 2024 (until then, we'll just keep teaching in the old building)
  • Two-year havo/vwo bridge class
  • One gymnasium, starting in the bridge class
  • Good student guidance
  • Use of laptops in addition to the use of books (from school year 2023-2024)
  • Emphasis on our STEM subjects for students interested in mathematics
