This school year we started a new track for students looking for more challenge: GymnasiumPlus! This education is specially designed for students who need more challenge and who like to have time to explore their own interests and questions at school. Are you more- or highly gifted and looking for more depth than you are used to in elementary school? Then GymnasiumPlus is for you!
At GymnasiumPlus, our teachers work through the regular curriculum faster, creating space to research with classmates on topics that really interest you. In addition to the regular subjects, you will be taught philosophy and programming, and several exciting field trips are planned. Every week there is project teaching. In addition, you will have a mentor who will follow and guide your development in both learning and social-emotional areas.
We are seeing great results in the GymnasiumPlus class. Many students love being in class with developmental peers. The atmosphere is relaxed and positive, and after school students often stay together in the auditorium to study, do homework or relax. They share interests, humor and level of thinking. For some, it takes getting used to functioning in a class again, as they often worked individually in elementary school - but that transition is increasingly smooth.
GymnasiumPlus is for students who are ready to expand their horizons and discover and develop their talents with others. We continue to carefully monitor this group and adjust our program as needed so that it continues to meet the needs of our students. This is how we build an environment in which talents can flourish and each student truly feels at home. We look forward to witnessing the growth and special moments of this group!
