Gymnasium

Why grammar school?

The roots of our European culture lie in ancient Greece and Italy. Delving into the world of the Greeks and Romans will open up a new world for you. You will discover how much of what we now take for granted has its origins there. The influence of these civilizations is still visible all around us: in language, in stories, in ideas and in buildings.

What do you learn in the gymnasium bridge class?

In the bridge class of grammar school, you will be introduced to this classical world in a fascinating way. You learn about the gods - like Aphrodite, Jupiter, Mars, Juno and Hades - and hear stories about heroes like Hercules. You even read about Romulus and Remus, the founders of Rome, already in Latin. You'll discover how the ancient Greeks and Romans built their temples and see how their style is still reflected in modern architecture.

So you learn not only about culture, but also the language of the Romans: Latin. Gymnasium challenges you to look beyond, make connections and discover where our society comes from.
