Gymnasium

Why gymnasium?

The roots of our European culture lie in ancient Greece and Italy. By exploring the world of the Greeks and Romans, a new world opens to you. You find out how much of what we take for granted now finds its origin there. The influence of these civilizations is still visible all around us: in language, in stories, in ideas and in buildings.

What do you learn in high school?

In the seventh grade of the gymnasium, you get to know this classic world in a fascinating way. You get to know the gods like Aphrodite, Jupiter, Mars, Juno and Hades and hear stories about heroes like Hercules. You even read in Latin about Romulus and Remus, the founders of Rome. You discover how the ancient Greeks and Romans built their temples and see how their style still comes back in modern architecture.

This way you learn not only about culture, but also the language of the Romans: Latin. The gymnasium challenges you to look further, to make connections and to discover where our society comes from.
